okay started in november on the beaver and then stayed on beaver while seting land in dec still going so far have skinned only have not fleched hardly any just getting started big deep frezze full this was not one of my better decisions

Not a good plan!! Better skin as you go. I once had 55 half frozen coons on the porch of my shed. Nightmare!

I am new to trapping. I did trap an a teenager for a couple of years and I loved it. Can you freeze skins without salting? And how long can you freeze them before fleshing and drying? So far I got 2 beaver and 1 otter. Thanks

yes you can freeze with out salting and i think they flesh easier when u skin freeze thaw and flech

They flesh good if they arent frozen too long. They can freezer burn, like meat can.

Thanks guys, I know my questions may be basic. But I have to start somewhere. I sure am glad you have this forum. I really am getting ready for next season, Allthough I plan to get some more beaver before the end of March.
