Just happenned to drop down to NAFA Winnipeg depo and they were grading some of the many pounds of castor that has come in. Things were getting spread out and ready for grading/ weighing. There was two trays with some 100 odd castors laid out. My eyes sota gravitated to one pair of big castors, that stood out. Every year there is some come in like this, usually only one side, but this time both were plump... like a 8 oz jar size. So we took them and weighed on the scale...... ;D ;D ;D. Weight will remain hidden till either of these two fess up who's it is. By the way the grader said it was good Minn. castor, what he thought till ; I read the label, and they were from NC. He aslo thought these two were partners....... wonder if he is breathing too much castor fumes. So if Phil Mai , or Robert LaRue are out there... who sent in the big ones... so far you are up to sending in the biggest castor award. What was the weight when you sent it in?

NICE!!! I did'nt know NAFA had an award for castor. I don't know how much that one weighed. How much was it? Don't know who's box it was in either. Mine or Phils & Phil don't know, just asked. Yep, we're trapping partners. Phil sent in 35lbs & I sent in 30lbs. If they mixed it up together send us both an award! I skinned it out & remember it was really big & solid. Like that beav had been "backed up" for awhile or something. If I remember right it was a big male, but not sure on gender. Wish they could confuse more of my stuff with Minnisota!LOL!
Thanks for the scoop & looking us up! It's allways nice to get noticed for something. Later!

Welcome o the forum Bob. shall try to get down a get a pic of the stuff. It was a holiday up here today. don't know what the final weight was. there was a record amount sent in this auction. Lots of small orders 5 -10 beavers types. yours and the partners did fill a drying rack each. Keep up the good work. But if you trapped in Minn... you would only be allowed 4 otter in some stupid trapping time period... and deep six the others to the DNR that come with beaver trapping. Wed we are all waiting for a slow hammer to fall. oh I'm not a NAFA employee, or spokesman, but shall work on that award... just can't wait to see the T shirt phrase coming out of this. the moderators ay change your profile, from grinner to.............mmm

Bob how did your castor grade out ? By the time I returned it was graded cleaned and amounghts the pile. Grade and break down? There was slight molt so next time put a little linseed oil on it before shipping. your two were the largest size in tha auction. There was several other people that stuffed castor in castor to make it look big and tied them all shut. This is not the way to fool a grader. the two mould and the graders have to pull them all apart and the green cream inside is waisted for the perfum business.
On another note, a client of mine found a good way to kill ant hills. Actually it was her 3 yr old grandson that did it. He watched as his grandmom put white ant dust on the hills every morning and under her breath cussed those ants. So he went into the bathroom and got some bathoil and made a soupy mess and poured it on the hill. Killed the ants, and grass.. now they have every dog coming and rolling and marking the ant burial grounds. Oh... did I mention it was a 250$ bottle of Channel #5 bathoil... about one full castors worthy I recond.
