If its just a light rust don't worry about it. If its heavy you can use a wire brush. Just make sure they're clean before you dip them in your F1.

jahwarrior, I had better luck after I cleaned my traps to dip them in F1 with a thinner coat than what the directions call for. Stir the mix very well and frequently when dipping your traps. It also needs to warm ups alot unless you are doing them in a heated garage or some place like that. I made my F1 mixture thinner and it seemed to coat more evenly, I did a couple extra dips but the thinned mixture worked better for me.

Also on your 330s I'd put a patch of tape over where the dog sits to keep it clean so it wont get gummed up. Also clean the mixture off the triggers so they are not too slick.

You need to clean them somehow. You can boil them, take'em to the car wash, or my personal favorite, stick them in the dishwasher (gotta do that when the wife ain't there ;D ). This gets all the oil and crap off of them.

dishwasher is best for new traps many have found out, much rust and the inside turns orange, the mrs won't like that.
soaking in 50-50 vinegar/water for a few days then take them to the car wash, and they look nearly new

ok so put one in a vinigar and well i forgot about it till today. its been amonth or so. and for those who have not found this out for them selfs let me tell you. i pulled the trapp out and went to rinse it off. and it is cleaner then the day i got it! but the down side the acid from the vinigar ruined the springs! my little girl can oppen the trap with her hands now. so remember not to sock them to long. im going to the store not to buy another.
