Can some one decipher this for me. I have an engineering degree and still its foggy.
What are the changes? Trappers can now use Conibear®-type traps that have an inside jaw spread or opening (width or height) between 7½ inches and no larger than 26 inches in width and 12 inches in height (Figure 1) submerged in water, unless trapping beavers during the beaver trapping season.
and then
How can these traps be set? These traps can only be set when totally covered by water. Exception: It is lawful to set these traps (inside jaw spread or opening no larger than 26 inches in width and 12 inches in height) if at least one-half of the trap is covered by water, when trapping beaver during the season for trapping beaver (Nov. 1 through Mar. 31).
Its seems they are contradicting themselves for what was said above.

The WRC regulation digest was printed before the actual law was settled in the General Assembly. Any body gripping trap with a jaw spread greater than 7 1/2" must be set in water at least 1/2 submerged. You can use a body grip trap with a jaw spread of max. size of 12" in height and 26" in length. To give names to these 110 to 220 can be set on land or water and 280, 330, 12x16, and 660 must be set in water only.

If I am not mistaken anything larger than a 220 has to be at least 1/2 way submerged including the 660 which is now legal.

Anything larger than a 220 must be at least 1/2 submerged during the trapping season. If you do any beaver trapping outside of trapping season (ADC work) you must completely submerge all body grips, no matter what size.
