Yes it would. Every animal that smells skunk or castor absolutely has to check it out. Very attractive to canines, even if you don't have skunks in your area. I don't have skunks here, and I catch fox and coyotes on lures with skunk.

skunk essence= good for the critters
skunk essence= not so good for the ladies
As a matter of fact any mustelid glands will pretty much ruin your evening....

WP, that's not 100% true. Skunk essence is used in lots of perfumes and colognes, mainly cuz it carries so well.

If you are going to use Gusto you better have a tough stomach and keep it away from your other equipment and in a couple of more jars. Careful with your fingers.

Back in the 80's was trying out new styles of Montgomerys 220, similiar to todays Belise style. since I trap in the south of Manitoba, got them going on some racoons and a few skunks got in the way, so the traps had some odor/ experience when they went up north to the fisher/martin/ wolverine trappers. A couple of the old timers just screamed like a stuck pig,,, no way were they going to use those traps because of the skunk smell, and all they caught that season was FRESH AIR. Then one of the young wipper snippers came back from the line with 4 woverines and several fisher at the end of the season. He had been using those educated 220 traps of mine. Those traps were 300 miles past where any skunk travels, and those animals had never smelt it before, but just had to investigate. Those animals were equal to a full years wages made off skunk perfume, and there was a lot of that style sent up north the next year.
