According to the regs book as long as it does not have a jaw spead of more than 7 1/2" and has at least a 3/16" offset for traps with a jaw spread over 5 1/2" you are good to go.

tonka 4x4 is right. over 5.5" but under 7.5", must have a 3/16" offset.
Duke does not make (at least according to their website) a #3 OS Soft Catch......
If you found a dozen Duke #3 OS for $99, that is a good deal, if they are in good shape.

I'm not sure about the dukes, but the victor 1.5 soft catches I have are basically offset. If you take the pad off and look at the jaws, its just an offset trap with bolt holes drilled and tapped to mount the pad. I don't see why the Dukes would be any different.

Do they measure it on the inside? I believe a Duke #3 has an inside jawspread less than 5.5".

I'm pretty sure any #3 is going to need to be offset. Those of you that run the Victor #3SCs, where do they fall in the legal realm. I'm sure the Dukes are similar. My Duke #3 offset is advertised at 6.5", but I've never put the tape measure to it.
