I was contacted by Mike Johnson, one of the commissioners for Dare County tonight. There will be a meeting 9/15/08 at 5 pm. at the commissioners meeting concerning trapping regs and dates in Dare County.
Mike Johnson advised he wanted any local trappers to attend the meeting to show their support for the trapping season in Dare County. A group of dog hunters have objected to the current local laws in effect.
Mike Johnson told me he has already spoken to Colleen Offenbuttal from NCWRC who will be there also.
I am going with a few friends from the beach to show support.
Mike Johnson put himself through NC State off his fur money, so he's a big supporter for us here locally and knows what he's talking about.
