where is the best place to place trap tags: On the trap or on the chain? On conibears where do the tags go?

I wrap tightly around one side of a link and mash down with pliers on all type traps. Coyotes will still chew them off. Always carry spares and check after a catch.

I do similar to what Jimmy does, except I wrap black electrical tape around mine. Helps weather proof it and helps reduce chewing. Will catch several raccoons before I need to replace it.

Chain links seem to hold them better. Even traps in your truck need to be tagged. They are in your possession.

If you wrap them around your swivels, just on one side and then squeeze them with pliers they hold up well and don't get messed up as often.

I agree with varmintshooter. I wrap mine around the body of a swivel. Same on coils as conis. Crimp them down but realize you may lose one to chewing. I think I lost one last year.
I can live with that.

Thanks for the information guys. if y'all couldn't tell by my questions on here, this is my first year trapping so I wanted to try to do things right. Hope to see some of y'all in Smithfield in September at the convention.
