Read the new reg book today to look for changes and what not. I noticed that it said that using a snare for anything other than beaver is illegal. I got that part, but there is no mention of them being required to be submerged at all... does that imply you can set one on top of a dam?

Snares do not have to be submerged at all. You can set them on top of the dam. 99% of my snares are set completely dry land. Just have to watch out for these.

Actually John I didn't know for sure it was the next day, but I knew it was close. Could have been a day or two either way.
Kind of like Babe Ruth pointing to Center on that one......LOL

I got my camera shooting in the 19 th centuary. It's all in how you set it up, or the grandkids do.

What happens if you have a non target animal in a snare? What if it is no longer releasable, skin it or throw it away?

Same as catching fox in a county that has a "rubber cleated jaw" restriction like the local law that the live market guy got his buddy in the Legislature to pass last month for Alamance County. Cannot keep if caught in a regular 1.5 set for coon.
