220's or footholds?
There are some good threads on here and on Tman about trap preparation... depending on what you have and how long you have to get them ready (not much time now) you can dye and wax, dip in speed dip or fourmula 1 or just paint them with rustoleum, depending on what traps you have and your intended target.

well i just got my first 3 traps in ( the wife limited me!) This is my first year trapping, and I also am on a limited budget for traps. I only run 18 traps this whole season, and they kept me really busy. IMO you dont need a bunch starting out, I still have a lot to learn. As far as prep goes, I got six 220's that I painted. The foot holds I have I dipped in Formula 1. That is some good stuff. Main thing is get your gear right before you put it in the ground, or you may educate critters instead of catching them. Do alot of reading on here there are a few threads on trap prep here, you just got to find them. Maybe someone would be kind enough to link it to the post for you, I am not that computer savy, it is all I can do to get a picture on here. Also listen to these guys they know what they are talking about Unless it has to do with coozies and catfishing, I think they get fish tale itis on them. Once you make a catch you gonna be hooked! Good luck and got a question ask it, someone here will tell ya something!

Yeah and post some pics when you connect!!! Hey prune how much longer will beaver fur be good? If I read the regs right you can still trap beavers into march, that might be a good thing for me to do after I quit trying to dryland trap.
