I found some of buzzards posted in the gallery by bottomline after I made this post, I noticed that he uses extension cables on his. I dont have these cables yet and the few I have set I use the #11 wire. I am going to get some of them cables.

JLC, one of the better investments I've made so far is 100 feet of 3/32 cable some ferrules and a pair of crimpers(got them for my bday) I make my own cable stakes, and my own extension cables and I figured out how to remake snares after a catch using the old parts. I'd suggest highly investing in the crimpers. You can order 100 ferrules for 6$ and get the cable for about 9$ on line. I went to a local hardware store and told them what I could pay online and they sold it to me for 9$/100. As for the photos, here are photos of snares I set that caught something and this one caught one today both snares are supported by 14 gauge wire tied off to stick stuck in vertically or tied on to a tree sappling.

a few more snare sets: Note the dam in the background. There is tunnel of sorts between those trees the beaver are using. and Also, this one.. Put some castor lure or castor oil under where the stick and the tree meet so if you get a rain it doesn't wash all off. ( Idid remove the sticks and bush next to the tree to open it up a bit more after I took the photo)

what do you think is more productive snares or 330's for beaver.

I haven't gotten one in a 330 yet but I've gotten 7 in snares.

Both are about equally productive when used properly. Snares do tend to work better on educated beaver, though.

You will miss most turtles with snares. It can happen, but probally not.
