Well I have not been here much the last days of the season, a man I go to church with says he had some rats in his pond and they were tearing up the dam. Here is the first one I caught, got another one before the season end, and he has not seen anymore sign for now. There is alot of old hole around the pond, I am sure he will probably have a few more for next year. Catching them things is fairly simple, and I have learned a 110 will still hurt your hand!LOL I have had a killer season for a first year, cant wait for the next season!

This thing may have looked better I was doing a lot of drinking, and when I come to I had to start back... Don't know if I should tell you good catch, good luck trying to find someone to take it from you......or what... What the Hell, Good catch man. Looks nice and ugly... ;D Jon

Someone that catches alot of them oughta bring some to the spring fling and/or convention so that those of us that have never had them can try it. Sounds good.

gaget I disagree completely. Just giving you a hard time. A muskrat is pretty little animal. I grew up in the eastern part of the state ( Beaufort and Hyde County). My family owned lots of farm land and of course I had access to limitless acres with canals and ditches everywhere. Back then rats were as thick as fleas. You could catch them all season long and 5 or 6 a day was the norm as long as you kept moving your sets. Those were the best of times for kids trapping. Back then all the kids around trapped and it was a real big deal to see who caught the most. We had a fur buyer named Thad ( he bought for Lincoln ) that came thorugh on Tuesday nights and we would sell our stuff. If you knew how much money I used to make as a kid on $5 to $8 rats you would drop your jaw. I bought a new Honda 3 wheeler one year with my fur money. They will never be ugly to me.
