Set 10 otter traps Saturday. Heres what I had today. All were caught at the same toilet within 30 ft. of each other. Tony

Nice job, I hope that what to look for and how to trap them will covered in the demos at the spring fling. That is one thing that I am really weak on is finding good sign and locations. Right now I just set on game trails and a slide if I happen to find one. Those are some pretty critters, do they normally travel in pairs?

jlcjtc, I believe that Claudie Taylor is doing the otter demo at the spring fling and he is an otter killing machine. Once you get the hang of it they are relitively easy to catch. They usually travel in pairs but I have seen up to 5 traveling together. My guess is that its usually a mother and her pups. Tony

I found an otter slide, and it was rather hot when I set it over the weekend. Since then I have not seen another bit of fresh sign there. I am not sure what happened, maybe they have gone to another location for a bit. I have heard that they traveled. I set 220s, on the slide in two different locations to catch them while they were moving through. Maybe I did not do something right.

Prunes right. Otters have a large hunting route that they travel. They may take weeks to get come back but they will be back. I have set traps that took 4 weeks to connect and I have set traps that took otter the first night. Find good locations, make good sets and the rest is just a matter of time. Tony
