On Monday Newt and I set a short line of about 40 traps on a piece of land that only we had access to. Behind a gate. We set to catch fur and did not focus on any one critter. On Tuesday afternoon after checking our sets Newt set a short line by himself as I had to go to work. Newt did almost all the checking by himself. To make matters worse I hurt my back on Thursday morning while posing for a pic of me and a beaver and I have been basically flat on my back since then. I was able to get a final catch pic with some of the fur that was not skinned. We had a blast. We ended up with double digit beavers, several nutria, a couple of coons, 4 greys, 4 rats and 5 bobcats. 95 % of our catch except for the rats and nutria were caught in snares. Here is Newt showing how he fell in head first on Tuesday morning Newt and nice snared cat. Me carrying a cat back to the truck. We named this stump the nutria palace. It was covered in nutria scat. Newt set it up for nutria but when we got there we found it covered in mink sign. Never caught a mink here. But took 4 nutira. Newt with our days catch. Me with the same days catch. Me and Newt with part of our catch. All the coons and greys and many of the beaver had been skinned and were packed in the freezer. Me and Newt with our cats.

I'll let you boys in on a good tip those nutria make great cat bait.I use to catch a lot of nutria while otter trapping seems they knew where every otter crossing was.I would pitch them and the cats really went for them
