jack mack works great in em So I have been told but I can't find it in the stores. So you just sit that thing there, no covering it up or nothing? WOW, gonna get some of them thangs for sure. I cover the chain only, The first night I took the time too cover it all nice and everything, but I had the deer cam set up, you could see the coon go at the traps first thing to get at the fish oil that the fish is packed in. The second night I did not cover and they did the same thing. I think they will go at them no matter what. It has looked the same sense. I think I would maybe get more if the traps were 50 to 100 feet apart I have been putting them were I was feeding deer in a area about 20-25 feet. When I get one or two the others get the crap out.... |

do you use any scent or lure around those traps or do you just put those marshmallows out Sardines packed in oil and then coonmallows on the trigger and a few around the outside. Sardines are all the scent you need, you get them on you and your wife may ask you some questions about what side of the tracks you have been trapping on....  BTW Added one more to the stack today, ;D Going to call this one lumpy, I hit him in the head and he just set there looking at me and did not move but this big lump, did I say BIG lump showed up between his ears, the size of his ears, or bigger then lumpy fell over, He had a ;D when he died. Don't know why, must have hit him in the good side of his the head.  |

I couldn't find it for a long time either. I finally found it at Food Lion over with the sardines and what not, on the bottom shelf. You've gotta look for it, but its there. Caught 4 in 2 days with the JM PB mixture they were talking about on here.

Yep that mixture is killer on them, I even spike it with some mini marshmellows, use one of the wife's tupperware bowls to haul it around in, she dont know that part of it yet. LOL!!! Hope she dont read this before I get home today!

I pulled all my traps the other day and for two weekends of trapping I think that I did OK for my first time and try at setting traps. I got 9 coons if I count correct... ;D Thats 9 less coons eating my corn all summer and my deer will have more to eat. Really need to thank Bottomline for his help and turning me on to trapping, never knew it would be so much fun. Now I'm looking for traps and getting ready for next year, got some land lined up for fox and more coons and who knows what.... Also what a good group of people on this board, going to be fun to meet some of you in person.... Jon |

9 in 2 weeks, I've gotten that many in 10 weeks. Only got 6 all last season (partly cuz grinners were cloggin' up my traps last year). You done good buddy. |

a coon on a catch pole is about as wicked as a bobcat, but a cat "tames" quicker
a .22 short will solve that problem
It will probably not cycle a semi auto, a revolver would be the way to go
