Is there somewhere you can look online or on this forum that will tell you what furs have sold for in the last year from NC?

I would like to add a nonresident buyer to that list. The man's name is John W. Epler Jr. He is an excellent fur buyer with a very good reputation and was referred to me by Mike Marsyada at one of the Smithfield conventions. My thanks to Mike. John's address is: 733 East Second Mtn. Rd. Orwigsburg PA 17961

One of the old time trappers, Ralph J. R. Nelson once organized a local fur sale at his home in Buncombe Co. Several buyers showed up along with a good number of trappers.

I have delt w/ John Epler for many years, IMO he is the farest country fur buyer that I have delt with !

John will buy NC fur but you will have to meet him somewhere in Virginia as he does NOT buy a NC fur buyers license.

Just a small note bout John Epler beaver wise, I have sold many to him and put several folk on him as well.

Iffin you throw the smalls and junk to the side and offer him "nice" pelts , he will buy them green skinned for bout 50 to 75 percent above Lincoln Barbours best prices. He will buy the smalls and junk stuff also but at a slightly reduced price.

Once you set up a "relationship" w/ him, there will be no need to thaw them out either........

There ya go Dave, John will come down but he has to make money........is the NCTA available to help w/ his expenses ??

John as a dealer is as good as it gets w/ supplys as a whole, something our convention could use for sure.. Coakly is the only dealer we have that has any amount fo goods for sale .....
Iffin we had Epler and Coakly at our convention and they both made money to want to come back...........we would have all avenues covered !

Howdy ya'll, I've never been to one of those fur buys, wonder when and where the next one in North Carolina will take place. Just trying to get out and see what its all about. Got close to 5,000 acers I can trap. Land near Ft.Bragg, and up near the Harnett /Lee Co line and tons inbetween. Along with coon hunting, I'd like to try to sell those hide's as well. I've got enough $ in dogs, equiptment ect along with the traps. And I hate seeing any part of a critter you harvest go to waste.
